How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because I managed to acquire an acre of land and I have cultivated sweet potatoes. Previously, I never had my own farm land so I could just hire it annually which was costly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money for buying an acre of land which I never had before. Secondly, it has improved people's standards of living in my community. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong. However, some people were getting challenges while withdrawing money. I suggest if GiveDirectly could bring the mobile money services closer to the community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer for completing the payment of for an acre of land which I had already deposited for using the first transfer.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have a plan to purchase a piece of land once I receive my second transfer. If I succeed in purchasing a piece of land, I expect my yield production to increase. Prior to receiving this transfer, I didn't have hope to purchase additional piece of land given the increased cost of land.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money from GiveDirectly, I was overwhelmed by joy because my plan to buy land was going to be achieved.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase a bicycle at UGX 80,000 to ease my movement. I have not yet spent UGX 1,620,000 I am planning to spend it together with the second transfer to purchase a piece of land.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy a piece of land. My family leaves and depends on small piece of land, as home -stead as well as farm land. Therefore since farming is my only reliable source of earning , and yet I get little food staff from culvation. It's really affecting my family survival.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moments is when Iam chating with my children about their needs and it normally it's in the evening hours. I listen to my responsblities and it makes me plan well on how to raise them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face currently is lack of land to farm. I inherited a very small portion of land from my parents that is not enough to sustain the needs of my family. The small portion I cultivate is not productive enough to yield what can contain my family needs.
