I spent the larger part of my first transfer on paying school arrears 8,000 KES for my daughter who has already finished her high school education last year to ease her process of clearance and enable her acquire her high school certificate.I bought half a bag of maize for my family's consumption 2,.000 KES.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the money when I was at my homestead, I felt very happy since my daughter who had completed her high school education last year was giving me a lot of pressure to clear her school fees arrears so that she can acquire her high school certificate since it was withheld with the school due to the school fees arrears that I had hence the money from GiveDirectly came as a rescue since at that point I had no money.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship has been raising college fees for my daughter who cleared her high school last year, she is supposed to join the university soon and I'm still stuck as I am unable to fund for her education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is the evening when I've worked, earned some cash and bought food home for the family.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money gives me hope and assurance of achieving my dreams of taking my child to college and piping water to my compound.
