Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has taken a different sharp in that, I have acquired a mattress which makes me sleep comfortably compared to before when I slept on a hard mat. Secondly, I hope to start building my permanent house next month. I chose to use part of my cash transfer to build a permanent house because currently I'm occupying a a thatched house which leaks when it rains.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received money, I felt very happy because I got money for buying things which I never owned before like a mattress and paying fees for my 6 children.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first transfer on purchasing building materials ( 3 trips of bricks, iron sheet and 2 trips of sand) worth UGX 1,230,000, bought household goods ( mattress, utensils, blanket and 1 pair of bed sheets) worth UGX 232,000, paid school fees for my 6 children worth UGX 160,000 and paid labour for harvesting my g-nuts worth UGX 70,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to build iron-roofed house for my family members. Iam currently occupying a grass thatched house which leaks from one side where the children are sleeping. My children are falling sick of pneumonia due to coldeness hence Iam always spending money for their treatment. Givedirectly transfers will enable build a house where both of us sleep comfortably without leaking spots. My will no longer suffer from pneumonia as is rampant this days. This will enable save money spent on their treatment for providing other basic needs like Education and better clothing.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is afternoon hours. The whole morning I carry out gardening and there after engage in to domestic work . Iam only able to chat with my children development plans in the evenings and it's maiking us fairly progress well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. I normally try my best to carry on with crop farming but whatever out put realised is consumed due to high number of children. I have failled paying school fees for my children in time and this has resulted to thier poor performance.
