How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have always wanted to build a very big and spacious house. Hence, when I received my previous transfer, I started my building project. Nevertheless, I will complete my house project by purchasing few more bundles of zinc and nails. These materials will be used to roof my house. A very big thanks to the entire team at GD for positively impacting my life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own point of view, GiveDirectly has been very objective in implementing this program. They have provided me cash to improve my livelihood. Tranfers received from GiveDirectly has given me hope for the future. I am thankful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My major priority is to gather enough money to complete my house project. Therefore, I bought 3 additional bundles of zinc ($33,000LD) to roof my new house. Moreover, I bought 1 carton of mixed nails with money saved from my previous transfer. The remaining portion of my transfer will be used to pay contractors working on my house. GiveDirectly has become a huge blessing to me and my family. I am grateful.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I do not have a new goal after recieving this transfer. My plans have been toward achieving the construction of a new house. Building a new house has been my set goal and that is what I am working to achieve since I started recieving transfer from GiveDirectly. When this house is completed, there will be additional two rooms which I did not have in the old one. There will also be enough space in the various rooms as compare to the rooms in the old house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by coming to this town to visit every house. In this way, I think no deserving household would be left out of the program except where the household refuses to be enrolled into the program. Furthermore, by the organization leaving us the recipients with the decision to spend the money given us the way we desire is a decision for me that is well acceptable. I think the organization has done nothing wrong that I have seen since it started work in this town.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Like I said, building a new house is what on my mind now. With my first transfer I was able to buy two bundles of zinc, a mattress, and a cartoon of wire nails. Through the second transfer I was able to buy additional two bundles of zinc and planks for both the future and roofing works on the house. I was able to buy from the recent transfer I received twelve bags of cement, locks for the doors, and the balance was used to pay the contractors. I am overwhelmed with happiness for what GiveDirectly has done for me and my family. Where could I have gotten the money to build a house like if GiveDirectly had not come with this life changing program in my town?
