What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on payings school fees for my daughter, plastered my entire house and replaced my old windows and doors. I am feeling safer in my permanent house and very happy that my daughter is learning peacefully without school fee barriers.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is very comfortable and peaceful than before. I could have not educated my daughter or build myself a permanent house if I never receive the transfers. Lots of gratitudes to GD.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD does well in sending transfers directly and giving us equal opportunity to plan and spend on our own unlike other organizations which gives conditions. So far GiveDirectly is working so well to improve lives.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to pay school fees for my daughter who is in secondary school. The remaining transfers will be used to buy sand and cement which I will use to renovate my house. If there are any funds remaining I plan to pay my national hospital insurance fund arrears and also pay the monthly payments for a period of seven to twelve months.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having taken care of my children's basic needs and catered for their education single handedly. Their father died when they were all young but by the grace of God I have managed to take good care of them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of a sustainable source of income for myself and my family. I run a small business which hardly caters for their basic needs, in order to educate them I usually do quite a number of odd jobs as well but lately my health has been deteriorating and I fear that they may have to defer their studies because I will be unable to raise the required fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I am going to the lakeside. I usually anticipate meeting my fellow traders because whenever we are at the lakeside the atmosphere is usually very lively and this makes me forget my worries albeit for a while.
