How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My previous transfers were used to build and furnish my house. Meanwhile, with this 3rd transfer, My wife and I have decided to start transportation business. I am going to buy a partly used motorbike. This business will serve as an additional source of income. With this bike, I will be able to generate income to cater to my family basic needs even after my time on GD's program is exhausted. I am very pleased to have benefited from GiveDirectly financial assistance that has completely changed my life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Everything that GD has done thus far has been straightforward. The idea of not accepting favor of any kind from us but are passionate in reaching out to poor people like us is very rare. I am very amazed by GD's undertakings and I see nothing that GD is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My wife and I have decided to buy a used bike and begin our transportation business. Therefore, when I received my recent transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought a second-hand motorbike that cost cost $67,500LD. The total amount of $27,500LD from my savings was added to my recent transfer in order to complete payment for the bike. GiveDirectly has done very well for us. I will forever remained grateful for this golden opportunity that has helped changed the life of me and my family.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to have a house with zinc roof. The thatch roof can no longer hold the rain waters from leaking into the house when ever it rains. Things had been a little bit difficult for me before GiveDirectly came in with the cash transfer program. My focus now is to complete the construction of my house and have it fornitur
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well in selecting eligible household in the community. It does well in resolving home conflicts that may arise after recieving the cash transfer. Moreover, leaving recipients with the decision to decide how to spend their transfers is in the right direction. In my opinion, there is nothing that I know that GiveDirectly is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought zinc and other building materials for the construction of my house. I have had no other source of livelihood but farming. From the sale of some of the yields from the farm, I am at least able to buy vita cube, salt and other household items. I am so happy that I am on this program. I am going to make a maximum use of it.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting under my kitchen when my friend came and told me that GiveDirectly has sent money to his phone. Just upon hearing that, I took my phone and put it to the network area. After about two minutes, I received an alert on my phone that I have received forty thousand three hundred seventy five dollars from GiveDirectly. I almost fell from the hill we usually stand on to get connected to the network because I was really happy to have received that amount of money. My first time ever to see such an amount of money. Thank GiveDirectly for enrolling my house.
