What does receiving this money mean to you?
Let me firstly give the Almighty God praise for GiveDirectly to selecting my community. I have been sick for the past 7 months which made me move to Zwedru city to seek medical attention. When I left the town, my house broke down which made me start sleeping in the kitchen upon my return here.
If I am qualified to receive the cash transfer, I will build a house for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In March 2022, I was released from the hospital after being sick for 6 months. During the time I was hospitalized, my house broke down and my spouse had to return to her family until I return. Recovering from a protracted period of illness made me happy and joyous.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Upon arrival from Zwedru, I came and saw my house broken down, as such, I managed to buy one bundle of sinc which is not sufficient to rebuild my house. I also asked my big brother who promised to help but the date he showed is not coming soon.
Against this backdrop, I am now challenged with a lack of cash to rebuild my house. This is so much worrisome to me as the head of my family.
