How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Looking back at my past four months, there has really been bigger differences in my life. I used to borrow foodstuff from my neighbors since I could not always afford to raise my family with the little amount I was getting from the casual labors. Currently, I am glad that things changed and my family is feeding well. Balanced diet to us was just a phrase which we could hear people talking of but currently, my children can't go without milk, fruits and of course other varieties of foods. I am also able to fully give my children the medical attention they need. Thanks to GiveDirectly for making all this happen.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Alongside the plans to construct a new house, I have an additional goal to purchase a heifer. I have been funding a savings account where 14 members came together to contribute 1100 KES every month. It has been happening in turns to every member and soon my turn is coming. On receiving that contrbution my goal is to ensure that I purchase a heifer which I will then rear to feed my family in the coming future.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is my ability to obtain construction materials in preparation to construct a new house in our household. For some times now I have been collecting them bit by bit every time I receive the transfers. My plans to pick the construction is now clear. According to the constructor I hired to do the construction his timeline projection is a maximum of two months. I am hopeful that by November the construction will be complete and will be moving into the new house by December.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have completed the construction of a new house since the construction work is picking in the next few months. I am also hopeful that I would have purchased a heifer.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have completed building a kitchen. Before we used to use only one house for all the activities and it was so inconvenient since it was always crowded as the house was small. I am now glad since all this has changed.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new additional goal for the next four months is to save some money in a merry go round group to buy a heifer. This will be my investment which will produce milk for both family consumption and for sale when it reproduces. When I have an emergency which I cannot handle on my own, I can be able to sell it to raise money to handle other family issues.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have a new kitchen house. I had saved some amount in the merry go round group and this has enabled me to buy building materials and build a separate house for cooking. Before we had only one house which was a kitchen and also room for sleeping. The house was small and cooking was not easy because my children could want to sleep but there was no space. The smoke produced by the firewood was not an easy task for us and it always made it impossible for my children to do their homework. Currently, we have a separate house and cooking is now more convenient and my children can have also a space to do their homework on time.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next four months in that I will have bought a heifer and this will give me hope to only concentrate on the school fees for my children. When this heifer starts reproducing, I will be able to sell milk and get some money to use in meeting other household necessities. This will also help me save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have built a spacious house for the family. Before we used to stay in a small grass-thatched, mud-walled house which could not host all my family members comfortably. This is because I didn't have a consistent source of income since I depended on casual jobs. The income from casual jobs was too little to save after feeding my family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goals for the next four months is to fully complete constructing the new house which I started building using the previous transfers. Secondly, I want to save part of my transfers to buy a heifer. The heifer will produce milk which will reduce my daily expenditure on buying milk. The money I used to buy milk, I will save or use it to pay school fees for my children.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have a better and spacious house for my family. Before we were living in a small grass-thatched, mud-walled house which could not host all my family comfortably. My children had no space to sleep. They could sleep in my neighbor's house and this could affect their performance because they did not have enough time to study and do their assignments due to movement during the night. My daughter was also exposed to various risk condition like rape by walking during the night to go to sleep at my neighbor's house. But right now my children have enogh time for studies and their perfomace has really improved.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have bought a water tank for storing clean water for domestic use. I walk for a long distance to look for clean water for drinking during the dry seasons which is so tedious and time-consuming.
