How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I'm building a permanent house and own a cow. Previously, I faced the tough costs of renovating my thatched house annually.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me, Givedirectly has made me happy by enabling me construct an iron roofed house. There is totally nothing wrong that GiveDirectly has done.

I spent my second transfer on a cow and additional building materials

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The cash transfer has benefited me in so many ways. I am very happy because I was able to stock enough food. Moreso, I am so enthusiastic that the second cash transfer will enable the construction of a permanent house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy that day because GiveDirectly had fulfilled its promise towards helping me. In my plans, I knew the cash transfer would enable me feed and take care of the family.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I bought iron sheets worth UGX 290000, timber worth UGX 300000. I bought cassava worth UGX 200000. I spent UGX 250000 to buy clothes, a mattress, utensils. I am planning to spend UGX 300000 that I have saved to buy other construction materials. I spent UGX 115000 to pay debts. The balance of the cash transfer was spent on buying food.
