How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that I now have a stable reliable source of Income. I managed to buy a dairy cow and fortunately it has started producing milk. Of which l sell some milk in our local market and some for my family consumption. Since the milk has started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least meet our daily needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Give directly did very well by using M-pesa as away of sending money since it is very convenient because the M-pesa agent is almost every where and also very safe because it is not easy for one to know if you have received the money. They also did very well by not involving authority since it could attracted corruption.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the whole of the cash transfer to buy two dairy cow,I thought of buying cow because it is a long term investment that I could relay on for so long and it is also a source of income to my family. Fortunately both of them has started producing milk, that I am selling some to the community and some for my family consumption and making profit. Since the milk has started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least meet our daily needs, as compared to before when I was depending on farming alone to sustain my family which sometimes I could not even get enough produce to sustain my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference that the money brought in my life is that I was able to make major repairs on my house for my family so that they stay in a better place which is more secured. Apart from that, I was also able to pay school fees for my sister who had some arrears and offsetting the balance had been quite an uphill task. I am glad all that is now behind us.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when I got the cash. I showed my sister the text and she was equally happy like the way I was. I told her that I would offset the fee arrears instantly and she felt so jubilated.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the cash to pay tithe in the church and another portion I used ton buy a new steel door which means I will be more secured especially during the night. Part of the cash I invested in my farm where I cultivated sugarcane that I expect to yield so much for me in the future. Part of the cash I used to pay school fees for my sister who had an arrear of 7000 KES that I paid instantly so now she is free from the debts.
