How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I want to continually improve my business by adding more stock. I know this will help change my financial life and reduce the struggles I go through to raise money to meet my needs because it will be a stable source of income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In my life, the biggest difference in my life since I received these transfers is that I was able to repair my house by plastering my house. Before the transfers, I used to live in a mud-walled house and I would have to smear every month to maintain it in good condition. This was hectic since I had other commitments to attend to. When I received the transfer, I used it to buy building materials such as paint, cement, and sand which I used to plaster and paint my house. I am glad I don't strain to smear the house anymore.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to boost my cloth business by adding more stock. Through boosting the business, I will have an improved income from the profit from the business so as to be able to provide for my family well.
How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
In the last four months, I have been able to take my daughter to school without much struggle and taking a loan as I used to. Taking a loan to cater for my needs has reduced my business because I used part of my profit to cater to my needs. I was afraid very soon my business will collapse. When I received the transfer, I was able to cater to my daughter's school needs without a loan. Thanks to GD.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have a new goal of boosting my business so that it can grow bigger. Having no stable income I used to buy less stock but now I'm planning to add more stock.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from the way it would have been had I not received the money from GiveDirectly in that if it wasn't for GD by now I wouldn't have school fee for my daughter in college.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have boosted my business in the next six months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the money is that I feel relieved having paid college fee for my daughter. This has relieved me of the burden because I ddin't know how to raise it.

The biggest hardship I face is being sick. I have been suffering from arthritis for eight years now. The cost of getting treatment is so high yet I have to sacrifice the little i have for treatment
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am from the market and I am sure I have food for my family to eat at night. Knowing that my children have something to eat makes me so happy
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfers on boosting my business by buying sewing machines and materials. Currently I run a business selling school uniforms within the village. I always buy ready made uniforms but since i know i am a good tailor, I would like to do everything on my own from sewing to selling them so as to increase my income
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am most proud of is being able to educate all my 5 children despite the fact that I am a widower. I struggled to do small businesses just to make sure they never missed school. Currently two are in the University and I am so happy for that.
