How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Nathiel, before GD came, I planned on increasing my cocoa farm to a very big one but could not be realized that due to lock of funding. My entire life I wanted to plant cocoa around 5 to 10 acre but there was no enough money. It was an opportunity when I was enrolled as a recipient on the GD program and received my first and second transfers. With the first and second transfers, I was able to buy additional land to extend my cocoa farm.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Firstly, I want to take this time to say a very big thanks to Give Directly for services rendered us during the entire enrollment process was very transparent. You did a great and excellent job.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy more cocoa seeds and paid people to cut the bush to extend the farm. I was also able to buy food for the children. Thanks to the entire Give Directly family for the support.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The transfer came at the time I needed it most. After a hard day of struggling to make ends meet, we went to the place where we normally go to search for network. There was a message confirming that I have received money from GiveDirectly around 5pm that evening. I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before in my entire life. I knew that I will be able to put the money in good use.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I was able to start a new business. Before I wanted to start a business to help sustain my family but could not do that due to lock of funding. Now with the transfer, I will start me a new business to help me sustain my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My prayer and wish were for me to own a business, this dream was not possible due to financial constraints, I done casual work over the years, thus my source of income is not enough to cater for my daily expenses. when I received my transfer my key priority was for me to start a new business, therefore I use my full transfer to start my business.
