How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am now staying in a nice iron roofed spacious comfortable house in my own compound that I could not have managed if o could not have received the money from give directly. I could also not have managed to buy the best seats that I bought, I could still be staying in a very old seats that I am very sure they could have not broken by now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did well in training or crating awareness to people before rolling the program since this has helped people so much to make the right decision in spenditure.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to add more building materials and built a spacious iron roofed house in my own compound. I was staying in a grass-thatched and leaking house where I was not comfortable because any time it was raining I could be rained on, the house also was too small that I had to put things in one corner or pile in one place. I am now the most happiest person in our village because I was staying in a grass-thatched house where people were no longer stay in any more. I was so embarrassed but there was nothing I could because I could not afford to buy iron sheets. I am now staying in a spacious comfortable house where I am not worried when it is raining and I am very confident when I have visitors because I know it will accommodate all of them. I also spent the transfer to buy furniture since I do not have anything comfortable to sit on I was sitting in very old seats. The remaining balance I spent to pay school fee for my children who were sent home for school fee arrears.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that I now live in a better house. I have an iron-roofed house and instead of a leaking roof like before I know have gutters and can harvest rainwater. This makes my family comfortable and that makes me a proud and happy man.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The very moment I received my transfers I was very happy. I knew I was going to build a better house and no more being rained on while in the house due to having a grass-thatched house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my transfers I bought building materials to renovate my house. I used to live in a grass-thatched house that leaked whenever it rained. I replaced the roof with iron sheets and plastered the walls. Now I live in a better house. The remaining amount I bought a set of sofa seats to beautify my living room. Now I can proudly invite guests to my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I shall be able to use it to build a new house. I am currently living in a leaking house which poses challenge to my children. Due to bad condition of my house, they are often unable to study well during rainy season.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am done with my casual labour and I am able to have refreshing time with my friends. I feel note peace in my heart whenever I learn more from them on how they make it in life amidst the hard economic times.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in life is lack of money to support my family. I have been struggling to meet the growing demands of my children since I do not have a reliable source of income.
