What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchasing maize for the family consumption and paid school fees for my children. I also bought a sheep to keep and used most of the amount on purchasing a solar lantern to avoid buying parrafin everytime which is expensive.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer I was overwhelmed with joy. I was doing my usual casual job when I got the message and immediately called my wife over my mum's phone to tell her the good news and out of the excitement she rushed to my working place to confirm the truth. She jumped with joy after realizing that GiveDirectly had actually sent the transfer since we had previously heard of people benefiting from the program but this time we were among the beneficiaries.
