What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to pay my son school fee. I also built my son an iron roofed house because he was spending his nights at the neighborhood which wasn't so secure. Apart from that I purchased foodstuffs for family consumption.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that my child who was home due to finacial constrant after excelling in his primary school is now pursuing his high school education.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What GD do well is that it give us ready cash to spend and doesn't control us on how to use it. What GD have aught to do is to continue giving us this cash because we still have so many challenges.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I had a child in form one and therefore receiving my first transfer was a good relief on my side-2000 KES from the money went to paying school fees. I spent the remaining amount on a mattress since the one I had before was tattered and uncomfortable for us.
What are you planning to spend your upcoming transfer on?
I am planning to use the whole of my upcoming second transfer for educating my child in a secondary school. I am too poor to afford educating my children on my own and therefore this money would have offered me a lot of help.

What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I'm resting after I have taken my lunch.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
My first plan is to spend part of the transfer to build a small house where my daughters can sleep, because this one is smaller for all of us. Secondly, I plan to use another part of the transfer to pay school fees for my son who is in secondary school in form one. Finally, I would like to use the remaining amount to build a house for my eldest son so that he has his own.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Having gotten a harvest of two sacks of millet from my farm that I ploughed, which really helped me a lot to sustain my family is the achievement I'm proudest of. This is because I sold some to get some income.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Paying school fees for my son in secondary school, has been the biggest hardship I have faced due to inadequate source of income.
