"My first priority is to use the money to start a new business of making and selling fresh fruit juice. Early last year I had the same business but I had to focus on other jobs because I lacked capital to expand it. I will buy a blender and boost my stock of fruits. I will also buy a freezer that will keep my juices fresh and not perishable. The income I get from this business will enable me to sustain my livelihood. My second priority is to buy some household items such as a carpet,TV and clothes. Lastly I will use the transfer to expand my mother's business. She sells snacks and cigarettes along the roadside. I will buy her more stock and her profits will increase."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money. I use someone else's motorcycle to do boda-boda business but this does not reward. Usually, the owner of the bike expects his share at the end of every week. The ammount of money that I present to him determines how much he will pay me. At a period when bussines is not so good, I suffer the lose which the boss can never understand. I really have to work hard to please the boss but this does not benefit my family. I just do this because I don't have an option but it is not the best."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of farm land. My father has only a small piece of land which he has to share among the many children that he has. This land is never enough to sustain life. I can not farm as expected. As I speak now, I don't have food in the house because there is no where for me to cultivate. "

"Provision of the education needs of my children is the biggest hardship that I am faced with. I depend on agriculture for most of my requirements including school fees. If I don't cultivate then life is not easy for me. Some times the harvest is not very good based on climate changes. Pests and over use of the land have also affected the harvest in some instances. The land that I use never has time to fallow so I can only have less which I have to sell a given portion in order to provide school fees and other needs of the family. As a single parent, life is just not easy."

"If it were not for the cash transfers, I do not think it would have been possible for me to launch the business because after it collapsed some years ago, it has been extremely hard for me to revive it once again because I do not have a source of income which I can use to revive the business. Apart from that, I also mentioned before that I bought a cow at a whopping 24000 KES which is a lot of money which I could have never managed to raise to date. So for me, I just say thank you to Give Directly for helping me come this far."
