"Presently, I am happy that I am self-employed. With the motorcycle which I bought, I operate and enjoy the full earnings alone. In a day, I save approximately 4 USD a day which I wouldn't get before I obtained my own motorcycle. The owner would take all the day earnings leaving me with none and this motivated me to buy my own when I got my transfers."

"The biggest difference in my life is that I boosted my farming with the transfers which I received from Give Directly. After buying the two cows, I also did paddocking which makes my work much easier as I can let the cattle graze on an enclosed area while I work on my farm. This advancement has made me proud as a farmer and no longer depend on others as I can sell milk and have income which enables me to buy other family necessities."

"My parents left us about 8 years ago when we were still young to a place where no one knows. The reason why they left us has remained a misery and we had to depend on relatives and well wishers for education and meet other domestic expenses/needs. After completing my Secondary education, I had to chip in in paying School fees of my younger brother by operating a motorcycle as casual labor where I get approximately between $2.50 and $3 a day. The biggest hardship I have faced in life is raising School fees for siblings and I thank Give Directly for this rare opportunity."

"I spent most of my first transfer to buy a dairy cow and used the remaining amount to improve my house from a cemented floor to that which is made of tiles. I made a decision to buy the dairy cow since the one that I currently own is producing very little milk that is hardly enough to feed the family. With this dairy cow that we now have, then we can be able to raise enough money to buy other basic needs for the family as much as we have enough to feed the family."

"Presently, I feel so proud of my self for the greatest step I have made which is to purchase heifers for rearing. In my life, I never imagined that I would own any livestock in my life because I couldn't afford such things considering my meagre earnings. I don't have a reliable source of income and what I normally get is usually spent on food. I feel proud of myself because there is the hope of growing economically and becoming a better person through the livestock which I ha now have."

"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because I am now a proud owner of a dairy cow and a heifer. These are assets that I did not have before and I can lean on incase of financial challenges. I believe that it will be calving soon and my family will have enough milk for consumption and sale. This will also enable us to reduce our daily expenditure. Also, I have been able to practice some subsistence farming after a long time and I am now glad since I no longer buying most of the farm products as I now plant them. This would not have been possible since I could not have managed to buy the land had it not have been for GiveDirectly."

"I am proud to own a cow in my homestead courtesy of GiveDirectlyt. I struggle to bring in assets that I can take pride in and lean on in case of financial needs but this had not been possible due to scarce resources. My income has been too small to cater for both household daily needs and investments. I am currently keeping a cow with an aim that once it reproduces, I will have offsprings which to me which I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis. I will enjoy milk for both household consumption and sales to earn an income to support other family needs. To me having added this cow in my homestead gives me the biggest difference in my daily life."
