"This region is very unproductive because of poor soil and lack of rains. This has brought about my biggest hardship which is lack of food. Year in year out I have been forced to buy food since what I get from my farm is barely enough to feed my children. With two acres of land I get less than 10 sacks of maize in two seasons."

"Being a window and the only breadwinner for my family of 3 members. I have struggled so much to raise my two grandchildren who were left by their parents who past away 5 years ago. My only hope for survival is on goats rearing which I used all to educate my grandchildren up to the secondary level. My wish has been to restart this activity by purchasing 10 goats @ 30 dollars each. The remaining amount will assist me in repairing the roof of my house which leaks during rainy seasons."

"Receiving this money means a great transformation in my life. I have desired to complete the construction of my house but this has been in vain due to my financial limitation. The house I am living at the moment is incomplete and leaking because I have just placed old rusty iron sheets as the roof. My plan is to spend $ 500 to purchase new iron sheet, cement and labor changes."

"Financial instability is the biggest hardship that I face. This is because we rely on casual jobs for a living. My husband burns charcoal in the jungle where he spends up to a year without coming home. The area is so remote that he cannot access mobile money services to send us cash. This situation has forced my children to drop out of school due to lack of school fees."

"I have always wanted to start livestock farming but financial constraints have always limited me. With this money,I can buy one heifer and 3 goats. This will cost me 100 USD and 90 USD respectively. When the herd multiplies I can sell a few and pay school fees for my children."

"I have a small retail shop at the shopping center whose monthly rent is $7. The items i sell include; sugar, salt and candies.I usually spend my daily profit of $1 to buy food for my family of 3, hence it is a struggle meeting other family needs such as proper healthcare for my sickly wife who keeps on complaining of pains all over her body for 2 years now, hence I got no money to take her to hospital for diagnosis This is the biggest hardship I face"

"The financial crisis is the biggest hardship I faced in my life. As a cassava vendor, I usually move around our nearby town with my small bicycle to sell the cassava. My business has slowed down during this COVID 19 period. Sometimes I end up getting an income of 3000 shilling per month, which is not enough to treat my leg as well as expanding my business."

"Financial problems are the biggest hardship I have faced in life. As a farmer it is very difficult to afford some important things in my life, this is because I only get 2,000 shillings every month from my job. It is very difficult to complete my house as well as buying a mattress and bed."
