"Honestly, my most challenging hardship i have been facing in my life is lack of a stable means of earning money. As a result, I usually face difficulties to buy food and other basic needs of life."

"Getting access to water for domestic use is quite a challenge in this region. Being an area that is prone to persistent droughts, we are forced to walk for 3 kilometers to access this precious commodity. What makes the situation dire is the fact that I carry it on my back and I have to make 5-6 trips a day. This leaves me with a lot of backaches at the end of the day. I have to do this single-handedly because culture does not allow our husbands to assist us in doing such kind of work. I spend more than half of my day doing this. I feel that this is so much time going to waste because there other pressing matters to be attended to that can give my family a positive impact economically."

"In this area, we depend on farming as the main source of livelihood. I live in a small compound and that means I have limited space to do farming. Many times I am forced to lease from neighbors but I find it expensive. It costs 5000 shillings to lease a portion of 1acre for a period of 1year. You also have to incur an extra cost to fence that same piece to prevent animals from destroying the crops. Fencing costs 10000 shillings for 1 acre. Adding all the costs surpasses the overall outcome from this all exercise"

"Receiving this money will mean financial independency in my life. I have been aspiring to have a source of income of my own since I solely depend on my husband's income which is hardly enough to cater for the entire family. My husband work as a night guard in the city earning a meagre wage of Ksh 10,000 a month. Owing to this, my intention is to buy a dairy cow which cost approximately Ksh 20,000. I will sell surplus milk and earn some cash and use it to improve my house in the future."

"Receiving this money means that my family shall have a reliable source of milk primarily for consumption. As a relatively large family that relies mainly on milk as a staple food item yet, we have no cows or a reliable source of income, getting the invaluable resource has been a tough task. Though we usually spend most of our income on purchasing milk from our neighbors, we rarely get enough amounts. Hence, owning one or two cows will be a great achievement for our family because we shall have relatively enough milk while saving our funds to be used in other developmental projects. Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus."
