"First thing I want to put a blame to my parents, they were encouraging us to have more kids and not to take education seriously, if my parents were knowledgeable enough, o wouldn't have been so poor as I am today"

Tabu
received a $493 second payment.
"I spent part of my second transfer on buying some building materials such as poles, pieces of iron sheets, timber, thread and nails. This was for the construction of a new one for my children becasue the previous one was small some of my family members had to seek shelter from their friends, in addition, its condition was not pleasing at all. Also, I paid the mason his labour change for the job well done. Later on, I paid school fees for my children and they are now studying peacefully without being sent home as they used to do. With the remaining amount, I bought enough foodstuff for my family"

"My life is now different than how it would have been becasue, I managed to revive my kiosk business. The loss that I experienced from my clients and I was using the same capital to feed my family contributed to such. However after rcibvedbg the trasers I gave it a priority since it has been my source of income. I am glad it's now restored back to its normal state and I am getting enough profits to cater to the family's needs. Also, goats that I purchased I am assured that very soon I will have many of them and this will enable me to accomplish most of my goals"

Bahati
received a $493 second payment.
"My life is different than how it would have been becasue, through the transfer, I manage to add another room to my house. Initially, it had a single room and my family is big therefore it couldn't accommodate us all. Some of my children used to seek shelter from relatives which a bit stressful. Also, the ox that I managed to purchase makes my life different in a positive way. It will be of great help to me in my farming activities because becasue of my old age, using my own hands was somehow tricky and most of the time I need up getting a low harvest."

Dama
received a $493 second payment.
"My life is different than how it would have been becasue the money empowered me to purchase a dairy cow which I am now keeping in my compound. Also, through the cow, I am now getting plenty litres of milk for free that is for my children's consumption and planning to sell the other litres to my neighbours. From its business, I will be able to generate an income whereby I will no longer strain in sustaining my family's needs. Also, the tree cutting machine has changed our lives in general because we at least earn a living g through it. I am so grateful for now because there's no much struggling especially in meeting the family's needs,"

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by giving me a phone and offered me the correct teachings on the security issues concerning money. Previously, I had no idea on how to use a phone neither to withdraw cash but through them, I have gathered a lot. Therefore I do not see any part GD failed us."

Kavumbi
received a $493 second payment.
"I spent my transfer to purchase building poles, timber, Iron sheets and paid labour cost all this was for the construction of a decent house for my family. This is because I use to stay in a small structure covered by old and rusty iron sheets. I had loved to own a decent house but I lacked the finances for purchasing the building materials. I also bought 2 goats with the remaining amount."
