Bendera
received a $510 initial payment.
"I spent my transfer to improve the condition of my house by purchasing 12 bags of cement at $70 dollars each, sand, building stones and paid labour charges for $140. My plan is to build permanent one, this is because my house was collapsing due to the mud walls which was constantly brought down by rains. Furthermore, it requires frequent maintenance every year which is relatively expensive. In addition, I purchased 4 bundles of maize flour for $50 because we did not have enough food for the family. I also educated my grandchildren by paying their school fees."

"Receiving the cash gift will meant following my husband to South Africa and to rebuild our relationship that was there before he went to South Africa. My husband went to South Africa 10years ago. For the first three years he was able to send child support money and at times groceries. But for the past 5 years he stopped but rumors has it that his relatives told him I remarried. He does not answer my text or my phone calls so I would like to go their to settle things out. If he will not accept me, them I will start working their just to rise enough money to support my children."

I was in South Africa for the past years before Covid 19 begins and to be honest financially we were doing fine but I was missing my family. Receiving this money will meant starting a new business or a new source of generating income to this home. I will not go in South Africa if I will be luck to be sent in our transfers."

Prudence
received a $510 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is the heifer I bought using my first transfer. This came with great hope as I had been spending a lot on purchasing milk from the neighborhood. Seeing the new breed feeding and growing in my field every day is a complete change in my household, and even though I am still spending on milk, I am looking forward to producing from my own soon."
