"It has been a great deal of transformation in my household since I received the first transfer. I managed to change a lot making the outlook plus even my status to be completely different than it would have been without the transfer. I managed to obtain a great piece of furniture, add some livestock to my farm, sought medical attention to manage a condition I had been struggling with for years, and also obtained new clothing to replace the tattered ones I had been wearing."

"I spent the first 25000KES of my first transfer on buying a heifer. I had been spending a lot buying milk for my household use for a long time, and the thought of buying a cow had been with me as I had been hoping to cut high costs. This money enabled me to obtain a heifer and even though it is not giving us milk yet, has brought us new hope. With part of the remaining amount, I did construct a pit latrine as my household had been using neighbor's which was not convenient especially for the kids. I had been working on a tree nursery also where I had been growing and selling indigenous trees seedlings both of which earned me a lucrative contract with the county government a month ago. I am currently working hard to meet the order target that I should be delivering soon. I decided to hire other three youth paying each supposed to be earning 4000KES at the end of the month. I also managed to buy foodstuff for the household which we are still using at the moment."

"According to me, GiveDirectly does well in my region by making sure they visited all the needy households in my villages. The cash transfers have really transformed the living standards of each individual in my entire region. Most of us sleep under permanent houses from the temporary huts that we have been sheltering on. Also, we have different kinds of assets that we can now rely on unlike when we had none. Therefore, in my opinion, GiveDirectly has not done anything that is not good to us."

"My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have bought a heifer. I used t buy milk daily and this is so costly for me. I depend on small scale farming and casual jobs in the village to earn an income. The amount of money that I get through this is so small and cannot meet all the basic needs of the family including paying school fees for my children. I am so happy because when my heifer reproduce I will get enough milk for my family and sell the surplus at the market to earn an income to meet household needs. I am so happy because GiveDirectly has changed my living standard."

"My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have paid school fees for my children in university. I depend on small scale farming and also small business to earn an income to meet other basic household needs including paying school fees for my children in various schools. This was so hard because the school fees for the children in university is very expensive. I was so stress up because I didn't want my children to defer their studies. One of my children has graduated and I am so happy because were it not for GiveDirectly it's could not have happened. I am so much grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has changed our living standard and given us hope to work hard."

"My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have build a house for my son. I depend on small scale farming and the harvest that we get is only for consumption. I didn't had saving I could have build a house for him. He used to spend night at the neighbor's house. This was so challenging because he could walk during the night after taking supper. Whenever there was rainy he was being exposed to cold. Currently he has a house and he's so happy. He does his assignments without being disturbed. He has privacy and his belongings are safe. I am so grateful and now my mind is settled. I was so stress up before whenever it rains and my son had to walk for that Long. Thanks so much GiveDirectly for this immense support. It has changed our living standard."

My house now look so decent, the iron sheets no longer look rusted. I no longer fear welcoming visitors to my house. "My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have bought four goats. I had always wished to start goat rearing project but I didn't had money to buy. I do small scale farming and the harvest that we get is only for consumption. I didn't had savings neither. When I received the second transfer I found it wise to invest on this amazing project. Goats reproduce twice per year. This is the best investment because I will sell them to buy a dairy cow or even pay school fees for my children. I am so happy because this has given me hope to still strive for the best. I am so grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has changed our living standard."
