"My biggest hardship is financial constraints. As a house wife and seeing my husband struggling to meet our basic needs and me not having a way of helping him, the little my husband gets goes for food and clothing's hence we can't develop the family to another level."

"Imagine waking up each day to fetch water from the stream , tiring , isn't? The alternative to this is the dam but it's unfortunate that the water is dirty as it's used for the cattle as well. Receiving this money means that I will purchase a kentank 3000lts (200usd) to harvest rain water during the rainy season and use it for longer dry periods. I will use (350usd ) to start a poultry farm as my maize business is seasonal. The rest of the transfers will be used on clothing for my children."

"Building additional rooms to my current house has been my biggest hardship. My girls sleep in the kitchen, (a separate house) , and this is insecure for them.Furthermore, the soot isn't favourable environment for their day to day study. With the rampant cases of rape and teenage pregnancy, they might fall victims sometime and there dreams will be cut short. This will be a burden to me."

"Food insecurity is my greatest hardship. The harsh climate isn't favourable for the crops (maize, beans) I farm in the small piece of land I have.Lately, there have been fluctuation in the onset of rains that have led to low productivity. I depend on subsistence farming to feed and educate my children. With this ,I have to use the income (2usd per day) I earn from my bodaboda business to purchase food once it's depleted and it's unfortunate that this can't sustain the family need at times ."

"Receiving this money will enable me to finish up constructing my halfway-built house. My goal was to shift to the new house by the end of the year, but my son who was financing the construction diverted his financial support to his younger brother's hospital bills. I will therefore use $900 of my transfer to actualize this goal."
