"I am a young ambitious mother of two who primarily depends on subsistence farming to see my family through. Since we got married, we have had a dream of improving our farming to enables us to acquire more assets and get better yields to sustain my family throughout the year. To me, receiving this money means a better investment in farming since I am planning to spend KES75000 on farming. First, I will buy a dairy cow worth KES50000 because am assured this will bring to an end expensive spending on milk and instead earn extra income from surplus milk that I will be selling. In addition, I will use KES18000 to buy both goats and chickens to rear in my compound. These together with the calves from the cow will be my financial securities thus I will live a secure life unlike currently. I wish to spend KES7000 to boost my crop farming too since this will supplement my livestock produce. I am planning to spend KES25000 to build an iron-roofed house hence I will have two for my family. I will spend the remaining amount, I will spend on my family basic needs mainly daily food and clothing."

"I live in a single room old grass-thatched house that is becoming uncomfortable to live in since it needs the roof to be replaced yearly which is becoming expensive for me and tiring each time I have to do it. To be receiving this money means I will be able to construct two houses a living house and a kitchen. I am planning to spend KES50000 to build these houses thus I will leave a new life in a more comfortable house and I will be able to harvest clean rainwater a dream I have had for a long. I wish to use KES20000 to buy a heifer to add to my heard. I will be able to have more milk for my household consumption and sales for extra income besides the offspring that I will rely on any financial crisis arising in my family. I planning to spent KES35000 on my family basic needs mainly my eye medication, food and clothing."

"The biggest hardship we have faced in our family lack of stable source of income. We having been depending mainly on subsistence farming but we started experiencing prolonged drought life became difficult. Sometimes we could harvest none from our farm, it force us to starting doing casual jobs at least raise some money to buy food. It was not enough to sustain my family of six for food and school fees thus sometimes we could forgo some meals in a day."

"The biggest hardship is financial constraints. I'm a farmer and for the last few years amount of rainfall in the area has been very low hence no production from the farm. The little I havest goes for food and I don't get surplus to sell hence doesn't allow me to save or cater for other family needs like better housing and clothing's."
