"The biggest hardship has been financial constraints. We depend on my husband who is a trader earning at most Ksh3000 a month. This goes to food and basic needs. This way I don't get to save to accomplish our plans or improve our living standards."

"Long ago I used to own several cows which came handy in milk production and selling them to pay school fees for my 12 children. With time they began dying of mysterious disease with lack of proper treatment, due to finances, until I was left with none. It's been years now living without a cow, forcing me to purchase milk which is quite costly. This also meant I lost a source of income. I, therefore, have to work extra hard or just survive. The biggest hardship is getting finances to start up again and being able to take care of them well."

"The biggest hardships that I face is poverty especially lack of food. I do not earn enough money to buy food that will be enough for my family. Another problem that I face is lack of proper housing. My house has a roof that leaks and it is uncomfortable during rainy season."

"Lack of a stable source of income is what has been my biggest hardship. I depend on farming and my hair dressing business which has not been doing well especially during this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. Farming has also not been doing well due to long dry spells. My spouse is unemployed and therefore our income is not enough to fully cater for our needs which include buying food and educating my two youngest children."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is when I had to drop out of school when I was in form 3 because my parents could not afford to pay my school fees. It broke my heart to see my friends continue with their education while I had to drop out."

"Receiving this money means improved standard of living for me and my family. This is because I plan to start dairy farming by buying 3 dairy cows at a cost of 45,000 Kenya shillings. This will help me get milk for sale as well as for consumption. The money I will get from the sale of milk will help me buy food, pay school fees among other needs."
