"I am an old woman aged 76 and to make the situation worse I am sick and unable to do anything. My main challenge is to get safe drinking water because of the persistent drought that is often witnessed in this region. I plan to buy a big water tank of approximately 3000litres. This will cost me Ksh20000. Receiving this money will mean so much to me as it will solve my perennial water problem."

"The biggest hardship i have faced in life is poverty. Without a reliable source of income it has been difficult to meet the basic needs of my family. "Receiving this money means I will finally fulfill my dream of owning a business. I had started one 11months ago but it stalled due to financial constrains. I plan to finish building the shop and stocking it. This shop will help give me income and sustain my family needs. This will cost me 50 dollars. The rest of the amount I plan to build a house for my children. The current house is not in good shape, too small for them."

"The biggest hardship I have faced has been insufficient capital. I work as a school security guard and get paid $70 per month. My wife is a stay at home parent who sometimes sells chicken to generate extra income for the house. "My biggest hardship is a lack of funds. I work as a construction worker earning at most 20 dollars a month. This work is not stable as not everyday that I get to find a construction job. This goes to school fees for my three children and other basic including like food. I'm the breadwinner meaning I'm the one to meet all my family's needs. This strains me a lot and has seen most of my plans stall including a house I started constructing two years ago."

"I have been working hard to build a modern house with no success since my casual job earns me less money and sometimes not enough to buy food and basic needs for myself. When I receive this money I will use $400 to build a two roomed iron sheet house. Since milk is on high demand in this area, I will buy a dairy cow at $300 to enable me earn money through sell of milk . I will also fence my compound with $100 and I will do farming with $200. The remaining $150 I will use to buy goats"

"The biggest hardship in my life is the lack of food for myself here at home. Ever since I stopped working casual jobs, I rely on my children, who also do not have employment. They give me foodstuffs that can last me for about a month. Having to wait on them stresses me as I sometimes run out of food before they can provide again. I just stay at home because I have a knee problem. I cannot do anything for myself. It is very difficult to survive on my children's earnings from casual jobs and small businesses."
