"My life is different now in that, I was able to buy a parcel of land and managed to build a house, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me, initially, we were living in my in-laws compound but the house was too small, we also wanted our own space though this was not possible due to our financial status, I am grateful for the transfer because it has enabled me to get a shelter. I lack words to express my joy, May God bless our donors wherever they are."

"I have been living in a small house whereby it has always been interfering with my privacy since I have grown up children who feel shy to sleep with me in one house,so they end up sleeping from the neighboring household, this is a big shame in the society. I always need to go house to house to also sell sell vegetables which is tidious and hard way for me to get money."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life has been this time that I have had to live without a job. My husband also suffered a massive paycut due to the pandemic. The effects of the pandemic have been profound on me and combined with climate change in our area opportunities to earn a living and put food on the table have been diminishing."

"When I got married in the year 2013, the shelter was a great challenge for me and my wife. I was in Kaplong polytechnic and had no income at all. Although embarrassing we had to live in my brother's house who worked in Kiambu. Since that time we have had to work extremely hard to earn some income using all the available means. As a result of the hard work we have been able to build these uncompleted houses and we can at least live peacefully in it."

"In the year 2019 I fell sick immediately after giving birth. The sickness dried up my milk such that my child had nothing to eat. My husband had to buy milk from the neighbor's home so as to feed the baby. That made my child to grow very weak. She almost died . That's the biggest hardship I faced in life."

Nearly three quarter of the money I get from the economic activities I engaged myself in goes towards paying school fees. Mark you we have other commitments to take care of .It makes us inadequate and a real struggle for me and my family."
