"The biggest hardship facing me and my family now is money to buy food to sustain us. Even though I am making farm and burning char coal, but the money generated from the farm and the coal burning is not enough to buy food for the family and at the same time help me build my own house. The small cassava farm I can make every year takes almost the entire year before we can harvest it. Within that time, I result to burning char coal that which also take two months to burn as well. During those period food business gets very very hard on us sometimes leading me to get heavily indebted. By the time the coal is burnt and sold, the money go towards paying all of my debts thereby leaving me with absolutely nothing to buy food for the family. Therefore, any help that Givedirectly can render me to improve me and my family lives will make me feel happy."

"If I am successful to receive this money, I will invest it into clothes business. Meaning, I will go to Monrovia buy clothes and come sell same here. I decided to do this business because I realised that it will go fast and earn me more profits so as to keep the money growing than to just use it on things that will not earn me profits. And the reason I chose clothes over other businesses is, I noticed that young people these days like wearing new clothes. so if I do this business, I will be successful in it.
This business is not strange to me. I have been doing it before, but since my wife travelled, things have become difficult for me. In fact she divorced me when she left. As the result of that, I was forced to moved back in my home from Monrovia. Since I came here too, I made cassava farm to be able to earn monwy and reinvest in the clothes business, but the fufu I produced from the cassava to sell and do that, the price has dropped drastically. Thus resulting to me not being able to do the business now. So if I am successful to receive the cash, it will be a huge opportunity for to re start."

"The roof of the house I'm currently living in is very deplorable. Holes are on almost all of the zinc sheets. The sticks that were used to roof the house are all filled with bugs.
Benefiting from this cash grant will greatly empower me to renovate my house."

"Some of the challenges I am faced with are; lack of food. I am really finding it hard these days to have food to eat because my son who was my bread winner has died. Since my son passed out at the beginning of this year, it is not easy to get food because he was my only means of survivor. Also at my age, I am no longer strong again to make farm and I am having some health problem."
