"The biggest hardship I am facing is that I sometimes lcl food in my house. This is because to find money I have to go to the mountain to get firewood for sale. But since I'm pregnant now, and have a limp when I walk, I have been unable to be as productive as I used to be since my leg gives me problems and is painful. This means I won't make any money and my house won't have food."

"My biggest hardship facing me currently is the lack of money to build my own house and continue to pay my daughter's tuition fees. Though I burn charcoal but the money I earned is what I used to cater to other family challenges such as food and buy the other two children school materials that are attending Bowein elementary school. The money earned from charcoal selling is not enough to buy zinc and other building materials to start the construction of my new house. Therefore I will appreciate any assistance given to me by GiveDirectly to improve my livelihood."

""The current challenge I'm faced with is finance. I need money to feed my family, send my children to school and to take care of other basic needs like shelter, health, and clothing. Because of the limited money I earn from the broom I sell, I am unable to do any of these but feeding the family. My children have not been to school for 4 years now; all they get to do nowadays is farm work. My spouse has left me with the children and I alone is unable to support them due to the lack of money"."

"If I'm successful to receive the transfer I will use some to reconditioned my house and used the balance to provide food for my family. I am currently engaged in making farm so as to earn some income but the farm work is very difficult for me now, due to my age I don't have the strength to make a large farm. My farm used to produced ten bags of cassava daily of which I could sell ten bags a day that was enough to buy food for my family. Now the income from my farm is very minimum usually 2 bags per day and that cannot substain my family. More besides the structure I lived in the wall is made of mud and the roof is old. When the rain starts to fall it damaged most of my belongings. I want to buy zinc to roof my house, but there's no money."

"If we are successful to receive the cash transfer, we will send all our children to school. Although some of them been going to school, however, it was one NGO called Lipa ( second chance) that was helping to pay their fees . But the NGO has decided not to continue due to lack of funding according to them. The production of coal we do here too to send them to school is a very difficult work that can't give us enough money to implement our plans. So if we are successful to receive the cash, it will be a huge help for us. The reason we have planned to keep sending our children to school is because when they are educated, they will take care of us when we are old."
