"I spent part of my transfer on buying livestock more so ten goats at a total of KES 30000. These have been the well thoughtful assets that I have been yearning to keep in my compound bit because of the financial constraints, I could barely afford it. I, however, opted for the goats because as compared to the other domestic animals they have so many benefits and they require minimal supervision. Also, I paid school fees of KES 10000 for my two daughters who are in secondary schools and I am glad the money came in good time because their exams were around the corner. With the remaining amount of money I am using it in buying enough food like maize flour, vegetables and cereals among others"

"Receiving this money means building a house for my family. I am a mother of one child and we all live in a one bedroom house which leaks during rains season. My husband died five years ago thus it is hard for me to get money for school fees and also build a house due to lack of job. I will build a one bedroom house which is spacious for the family. It will cost me KES 50000. I will use KES 30000 to buy goats as investment. I will also use KES 20000 and KES 10000 for school fees and food respectively."

"Last month I lost my only source of income to a fire that razed down everything. I owned a retail shop that was well stocked . Life has not been the same again. I have been forced to transfer my children to another school since I cannot afford the previous one. The three meals a day that I used to enjoy with my children is now a thing of the past. I am now back to the drawing board because I do not have enough money in my savings to start a new business. I do not know where to begin."

"I have desired to invest in livestock because it is the only way I can save my money to earn me profit when I sell them after they multiply. I, therefore, intend to start with 10 goats that will cost me KES 30000 of my transfers. I will also spend KES 20000 to buy a new bed and mattress to replace the old ones which do not give me nice sleep, and hence, this will guarantee me a better livelihood. I will further spend KES 40000 to construct a structure for my son. He is mature enough and we can not live in the same structure according to our culture, he has borrowing a place to sleep in the neighborhood and this has not been pleasing me at all. The remaining amount will cater to other household expenses like food."

"I bought a motorbike 4 months ago on loan and I was able to deposit an amount of KES 15000 out of the KES 118000 required. I, therefore, plan to use KES 20000 of my transfer to reduce the debt. I will then spend KES 25000 to build a spacious 2-roomed iron-roofed house since I plan to marry and start up a family next year, hence the need for a more spacious house. my job as a motorcycle taxi driver is less paying, hence I will use all my KES 50000 second transfer as capital to initiate a business of buying milk from the neighborhood and selling at a profitable price to the milk cooperative. Engaging in these two income-generating activities will ensure improved income for my household."

"The biggest challenge I am facing currently is financial instability. I am a casual laborer doing farm works on other people's farms. These kinds of jobs are unreliable. When I get a daily job I am paid KES 250 per day, The money can sustain for 2 days then maybe on the 3rd day you do not get a job meaning you will sleep without meals that day. I have to forego some meals and maximize on this amount to compensate on those days I fail to get a job."
