"All my life, I have been desiring to build a house but I have been failing to do so because of lack of money. I gave up on this because the money I could find from piece works was only enough to feed my family. When I heard that I will receive money from GD, I was motivated to revive my goal of building a house. I am happy that I managed to purchase all required materials for the house building project. I am yet to start building my house. I also set s goal to improve maize production because hunger has been a challenge for the past years mainly due to lack of farm inputs. I have managed to buy 4 bags of fertilizer which I will use this year. I am confident that all things equal, I will be able to harvest more and be hunger free."

"The thing that I spent most of my transfer on is the house. I bought iron sheets at a total cost of KES22000 and wooden poles at a cost of KES8000. This is because the house is the most important thing and it should be in the best condition possible since it is where I will always be coming back to and spending most of my time. I also settled my child's school fees arrears of KES1000 and paid the school fees for the whole of the term which is KES600 since it is a kindergarten. This is also because I do not want my child to be sent back home reason being school fees arrears, I want the best life for my child."

We also have plans to build a house next year as of now we have just secured house building materials though we will build next."

"The biggest hardship I face now is lack of enough food. The maize I harvested earlier this year finished. As of now, I depend on farming in other people's farms who give me a few backets of maize. I have to farm for at least a week to find maize to last a month."

"I spent KES 52000 to build a more spacious house for my family and a granary upon receiving the transfer. We settled on this as a family since the granary we had and the house we were living in was small and not in good condition since its roof was leaking and our farm produce would go bad within a short time. I am glad that from now henceforth, our farm produce will last long since we will be storing them in a good place. Using the remaining KES 3000 I bought some foodstuffs for my family."
