"The new goal I have make before receiving my recent transfer is for me to rebuild my old house that is breaking down. My husband was killed during the Liberian civil war. I have been the only source of income for my 6 children. Life has been very challenging to cater to these children without any support. I have Bern watching my house damaging but couldnot attend to it due to hardship. I am grateful that Givedirectly came to my aid. I believe that with receiving transfer from Givedirectly, I will be able to rebuild my house."

"The biggest difference in my daily life after receiving the first transfer is the huge investment in livestock that has given me a renewed hope of getting enough supply of milk both for our household use and a surplus to sell in the next few months. The thought of stopping the huge spending I had been experiencing on buying milk is a relief to me as this will save a lot that will in turn be useful in boosting other sectors in the household. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for the great support that has brought great changes to my family."

"The excitement was almost getting out of hand when I first realized that I had received the full amount that I was promised to receive when I was enrolled. I had been anticipating and would instantly confirm every message coming in that week with the hope that it would be the one from GiveDirectly since I never had an exact date. I was on my way back after delivering milk at the collection center when I finally received two concurrent messages one from the service provider and the second one right from the Mpesa. Holding my breath, I opened and read and had to run all the way home passing several homes on the way whose members had already received and were already celebrating as well. I needed to break the news to my family and celebrate together. Even though my husband was not home then, I had to call him and relay the information that he received with excitement too. We thanked God and agreed to proceed with all the plans that we had in place."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that through the transfers, I was able to boost my charcoal business. This has been my major source of income for so many years. Being a widow, I have been the family's breadwinner and I have been raising my four children without any help from my in-laws. Life has been so tough and it had reached a point whereby, we consumed the profits because our needs were more than our source of income. I could no longer restock therefore the only option was to close it down. I am so thankful to GiveDirectly for the financial support because were it not for them, the business would have collapsed. I now have enough stock which results in good returns and very stable than before. For now, I can pay school fees for my children and comfortably cater to other basic needs like food and clothing without straining."

"I spent part of my first transfer on buying beddings which include a new wooden bed and mattress at a total of KES 11000. Since I was married I used to sleep on a traditional bed which was never comfortable was always complaining of backaches because of the discomforts. To add to that, I cleared school fees for my five children who are in primary schools. They have been on ad off for the entire team because of their huge arrears which used to frustrate them resulting in poor performance. With the remaining amount of money, I bought decent clothes and sufficient foodstuffs like flour, rice, beans, and vegetables. I am happy my children no longer skip meals as they used to do before."

"After receiving payment from GiveDirectly, because of the burning desired to continue with my house project to completion, most of my recent transfer was spend on the purchasing building materials, such as woods, roofing nail and cement. Furthermore, the remaining money was spend on buying goods to start a little business that will be a source of income for me that even when GiveDirectly leaves our town I'll now become an independent and self-employed woman. Many thanks and appreciation to GD for this life changing opportunity."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly has been doing well from the beginning of this program until now. The level of works done by this Organization cannot be compared to any. Their love and care for the needy is so much rewarding. Truly speaking, GD had not done anything wrong. They are the reason we are now happy again. Thank you GiveDirectly."
