"I have been mentally ill and also have high blood pressure for 15 years now. This has affected my health and well being to an extent that I am unable to attend my normal chores at home. Being a widow with a burden of responsibilities of taking care of my children and grandchildren has never been easy. Receiving this money will be a great solution to my problems especially on medication care as I have a monthly clinic which costs KES 2500. So most of the money from the transfer will be spent on medication. I will also spend KES 10000 to pay school fees for my two grandchildren who are in primary school. The rest of the money will be spent on buying food for my family."

"My family of four members lives in a one bedroom house where the room is so small in a way there is no privacy among us. Worse enough we have been sleeping on the floor 12 years due to lack of beds. This situation has really affected me emotionally and I feel ashamed especially when visitors pay me a visit. Receiving this transfer would be a great solution to this menace as I will be able to buy two beds which will accommodate the four of us. The bed will cost KES 12000. I will also spend KES 35000 to build a new 3 bed room house to accommodate more than the four members of my family. I believe through this financial aid I will overcome the shame because my family will be living in a better house."

"I am a mother of five with my youngest being ten months old. I was forced to stop my casual job after delivering my child which led to the cut-off of my income. To me currently access to healthy and nutritious food for my family is the main challenge. I own one cow producing a liter of milk a day. This is not enough for my big family. It is expensive to buy daily thus we hardly have enough for consumption."

"Receiving this money means an improved source of income as a household. We are in the sunset ages of our lives, our bodies getting weak and unable to do any manual jobs. We saw the need to have an additional dairy cow to the one we have to increase milk production. We will be able to consume some and sell the surplus earning some cash to sustain our family. Our projection is to sell 8 liters of milk a day. Out of this, we will sell 6 liters at KES 35 per liter and consume the rest. I feel excited that soon our dreams will materialize through the transfer from Give Directly."
