"Early last year I lost my job as a security officer in Nairobi as a result of COVID pandemic. This has resulted in financial constraints in my family because I am unable to adequately feed nor provide better shelter for my family . Delays in doing farming activities such as digging and planting has also become a norm due to insufficient money. This therefore has lowered my self esteem as a father because I cannot perform my duties of taking care of the family well ."

"RE: I have been having a land for many years now but I couldn't build on it because i didn't have the financial strength. Before givedirectly could come I use to sell coconut for people for survival. So I would come to you who can afford the finance to purchase coconut, than i will take it (the coconut) on credit, after selling, I will return your principle and take the profit for myself. That was how i continue to survive for many years, the profit wasn't much so i couldn't save to start my own business, it was only manageable for food. But right now I have my own business, at this present moment I have over 25 bags of coconut of my own for sell. All thanks to givedirectly for this help."
