"I have a young family of 3 and my baby is only 2 years old. We have one house which acts as a kitchen and at the same time as the main house. The smoke that emanates while cooking is not good for my small child because I feel this is a health hazard for her. We have been aspiring to build a separate structure to act as a kitchen and lead a comfortable life. I, therefore, intend to spend approximately KES 15,000 to build a grass-thatched kitchen and save the rest to start an agro vet business shortly. Materializing my dream will bring a sigh of relief as a responsible parent. Receiving this money will mean providing a healthy living standard for my family."

"We own only one cow that provides us with milk for consumption and sale of surpluses. When it is not lactating, we usually find it difficult to obtain nutritious meals and gain income since we are subsistence farmers. As such, receiving this money means that we shall always be having milk in our household. This makes me happy because we rely mainly on the sale of milk to raise school fees for my eldest daughter who is in grade 9."

"Currently, we are struggling to make ends meet because we purchase almost everything, especially food. It has been difficult for us to attain our basic needs since we depend mainly on my husband's little income (approximately KES 200 daily). My husband's job of offering motorcycle taxi services has become less profitable owing to the increased number of motorbikes in our area."

"My lastborn son has just completed his basic education and has performed well. Unfortunately, he has not been able to further his studies since we do not have sufficient money to raise college fees. This serves as the biggest challenge I am facing as a mother because it makes me feel like an irresponsible parent. Gains from our peasant farming activities is barely enough to sustain us."

"Receiving this money means a healthy life for my three children. Currently, my children can not get enough nutrition because I do not have a cow. I am a single parent depending mainly on casual work. I earn KES 250 a day when I get the opportunity to work, the little I get will use it for daily meals and save little for school fees. For the last 3 years, my children have never had the opportunity to drink milk since I do not have a cow, and with the little money, I earn I can not buy milk daily for them. I will use KES 60,000 to buy two dairy cows that will produce around 8 liters of milk a day. I will also buy a piece of land worth KES 35,000. This is because I want to own land and move away from my father's land."

"Receiving this money means a better house for me. Currently, I am living in a small but which doubles as a kitchen and bedroom. With the Children growing day by day, I feel ashamed because we no longer have privacy in the house. With the transfers, I plan to build a two-bedroom iron-roofed house worth KES 40,000 that will act as the main house. I will also buy two heifers each worth KES 15,000 so that when my children join secondary school I will sell and pay for school fees. The remaining amount I will use on foodstuffs, clothing, and, Construction of the pit latrine."

"My dream is to become a civil engineer. Lack of finances has made it impossible to realize my ambition. Since finishing high school in 2018, I have opted to do manual jobs(construction) for sustainability. The earnings I get are not enough to educate me as well as take care of my family. I plan to use all of my transfers to sponsor my tertiary studies."

"Proper housing is one of the basic fundamental human rights. For decades, I have lived in a dilapidated house because I have prioritized my children's education. I plan to use KES 70,000 to erect pillars to support my weak structure and renovated its falling roof. I would also use KES 13,000 to install a tap and KES 20,000 for the purchase of a water tank. The tank will serve as a reservoir to curb perpetually water shortages in the village."
