""I have a large family that the little house I got can't host all of them. As such my plan for this cash when I receive it is to build a new house that will be able to atleast host most of them so that my wife and I can have some privacy.""

""To do table market and provide food for my family has been on my mind since 2014 I and my family moved here from Jakaken. So my plan for this cash when I receive it is, to open a table market right at the front punch of my house because what I have noticed for the years is that more people live across this swamp and no market to even buy little food stuff to cook but rather we are forced to go in the town's market to buy food or other materials for the family.""

"I have been having family conflicts with my siblings because the land we inherited from our parents is too small and cannot allow all of us to settle in it comfortably. We usually compete for land space to produce crops and keep some livestock. I have been so frustrated by this and I have always wanted to move to get my piece of land but I have no money. It also seems that I will never have this dream come true because I do not have a job or a sustainable source of income. With my casual jobs, I can earn KES. 200 on average daily which only does enable us to buy our daily food. I am however happy because with your transfers I shall spend KES.90,000 to purchase 0.3 acres of land and then move my family to it. I shall be able to cultivate some crops and keep livestock without much distraction and in a few years to come, I shall be self-reliant."

"Giving me the money has made me proud. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I managed to build my two houses. I do not see anything that GiveDirectly does bad. I am so happy about the program."

"There are series of challenges that my household is currently facing but the main one is the lack of money to keep us moving as a family.
My husband get money for us through minning activities but sometimes getting Gold is difficult so him,he mostly comes home empty handed due to how scares minerals are these days.
As the result of these and many more, we haven't been able to cater to ourchildren education, least to mention of providing their needs as children."

""The happiness after receiving a message from GiveDirectly that confirmed the receipt of the first transfer was unmeasurable. I knew my dreams were about to come true. I had always dreamt of starting a business registered under my name. I have always seen myself running a very big store selling cosmetics. However, I was limited by enough capital for investment. I am grateful for GiveDirectly since I was able to open a mpesa shop using KES 20,000. Later after receiving my second transfer I was able to add more stock of Cosmetics worth KES 40,000.""
