"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did a splendid job in my entire village. The fact that the money was sent directly into our Mpesa accounts stood out the most. Also, we were able to choose what to purchase this is because everyone has his or her own needs in her household. I don't think there is any sector GiveDirectly needs to improve."

"GiveDirectly empowered both the young and the old by giving out unconditional cash transfers, the best part is that they kept the promise. In my opinion, we have people who are the neediest in the village but unfortunately, they were not enrolled because they did not meet the criteria, these are people who are homeless for lack of finances to secure a house."

"My husband and I are into the charcoal vending business, together we are blessed with thirteen children, upon receiving the second transfer I opted to build a spacious house, this is because the fifteen of us were sharing the same house that was small and stuffy, unfortunately, I was incapable of expanding it due to financial constraints, thus I used KES 20,000 in the construction, In addition to that I am happy that I paid KES 21,000 in clearing the fee arrears, I then used KES 10,000 on medication, lastly I used the remaining amount in buying foodstuffs."

"I spent part of my second transfer on buying six goats at a total of KES 18000. I settled for them because they require little supervision and they reproduce faster. I also cleared school fees of KES 12000 for my son who is in his third year. He has always been on and off because of the arrears. For now, he is at peace which has led to an improvement in his performance. To add to that, we bought a water pump at KES 15000 which will be specifically for our agricultural activities. With the remaining amount of the money, I bought new beddings (a bed and a mattress) at KES 10000 and a sewing machine at 10500 for my daughter."

"The area where I live is swampy and when it rains, water fills my house. Receiving this money will enable me to cement the floor and the outside walls of my house and leave them dry whenever it rains. I plan to use KES 30000 of the transfer to buy a dairy cow that will enable me to sell milk to my neighbors and earn money for food and pay my grandchildren's school fees."

"My wife fell ill a month ago and was diagnosed with Leukemia and had to be admitted to a hospital in Eldoret. I had no option but to sell part of my land for her to be admitted and start treatment. This has been the norm and we have to fundraise as a family since the hospital charge KES 10000 every week for drugs. Receiving this money will enable me to pay for three treatment sessions with KES 30000 and save the remaining amount by acquiring assets such as a cow and some goats that will be of benefit in the future and will take care of her treatment."

"I do not have any new goals that emerged since the ones I had in mind were all accomplished. For so many years, I have been longing to have my own spacious house the one that I had was in critical condition. I had to seek shelter every winter season as a result and my properties could get damaged."

"I spent KES 40,000 from my most recent transfer to buy cement and sand for building a new permanent house. Since this has been an additional goal, its construction began barely 2 weeks ago hence it is not yet complete although the work is in progress. In my house, we are currently living just the two of us, my husband and I. Therefore, an additional bedroom in the newly constructed house is meant to serve my guests, since all my children are currently in marriage."

"Since GiveDirectly began to work in my area, I have witnessed it doing well in supporting our community financially. This has easen our burden hence we have not struggled much in raising fees as well as getting food for our family during the prolonged drought. Personally, I have began raising goats, a goal that I did not have at first courtesy of GiveDirectly's transfers."
