Coleta received a $22 eighth payment.
"The biggest difference since I started receiving these transfers is that I have now plastered my house and fitted steel doors which I bought with the transfers. It has always been my dream to build a permanent house but I was not able to due to my low income from casual work. I managed to put up an iron-roofed house and decided to make it semi-permanent. I have been struggling to raise money to buy cement and sand but it has not been possible. GD has helped me to buy cement and sand which I have since used to plaster my house. I also used part of the transfers to buy steel door which I have fitted in my house. Right now I feel very safe because I have a comfortable house and a unbroken door."

"I spent part of my first transfer to purchase iron sheets in order to renovate my roof since it was leaking when it rains and worn out since it has been a long time it was renovated and because I had no money to do this, it was a pathetic situation when it rains for it would soak everything in my house. I was also sleeping on old rags and used sacks on a traditional bed which was old and I couldn't enjoy a comfortable sleep. When I received the transfer, I bought a new mattress and a new wooden bed so that I would enjoy a good and comfortable sleep. In addition to this, I bought a solar panel for lighting in my house which has relieved me the cost of buying kerosene. I am also happy that I can charge my phone through this panel. I also spent the remaining amount to buy two cows to keep in my home. These cows will provide milk for my family consumption and also sell to earn an income. This will also relieve me the burden of buying milk which was costly to me."

"Had I not received transfers from give directly, I would not have been able to buy sheep, change the roof of my house, stock food or even buy new clothes. My life has improved a lot and anyone in my village can notice from the glow of my skin because lately I always take three meals in a day which was not the case in the past."
