"Receiving this money will mean I'm able to finish construction and my family can move into a bigger house. We have a small hut that serves as a kitchen, bedroom and sitting room. I had saved some amount and started building a better house with a sitting room and 2 rooms but it is incomplete. I hope to use KES 20,000 of my transfer to complete the house so that we can move in and the hut can remain as a kitchen. Now that it's almost rainy season I will need a tank worth KES 20,000 to collect the rain water that will sustain the family when there's drought. The remaining amount of money will help my family in purchasing food, clothes and a small piece of land to practice maize farming."

"My village has been under drought for four months now. On July 2021 , I went to look for water at Mikamini a distance of 6km. On the way , I was attacked by wild animals and my leg got broken. I was helpless from morning till in the afternoon when neighbors came for my rescue and took me to hospital. I have not recovered fully but I can walk on my own. That is the biggest hardship I faced in my life."

"It was around 10.00 am when one of my friends informed me that he had received his transfers. I immediately powered on my phone and to my surprise, the money was already in my account. I became so excited as this was the first time to receive such a huge amount and I also knew that my wife's prayer of owning a water tank had finally been answered. Upon informing her, she became so happy and also requested I buy her a water tank as it was what she desired most."

"I moved from my ancestral home which is in the same village, a year ago. Upon reaching, I started to build my mud-walled house. While digging for mud, I discovered there is an underground source of freshwater. I have thought of means to exploit the invention but finance has been the real challenge. I am planning to save the transfers with our local financial institutions, help me acquire a loan so that I can buy machines to pump the water. I want to use the water to irrigate my vegetable garden just adjacent to the water source. I will sell the vegetable to earn my daily income."

"Receiving this money would mean a warmer house and an expanded business for me. I am currently living in a wooden house but the timber used on the walls are hollow and they allow cold to pass through. I would have loved to insulate it from inside but I have nothing left because I spent all my life savings building it. I am also an environmental conservation enthusiast so I usually grow and sell trees but the biggest challenge in this business has been water. I would therefore like to spend KES. 50000 to dig a water well and for the house insulation I will spend the other KES. 55,000."

"My grass thatched kitchen is in a very bad condition. It leaks in water during the rainy season and my 3 grandchildren sleep there as the other house is very small. Receiving this money will therefore mean they will get a safe and warm place to sleep. I plan to use KES 35,000 of my transfer to build a two roomed house, one room to serve as a kitchen and the other to serve as grandchildren/visitors room. I will then use KES 35,000 to buy a cow to add to the one I have. In about two years time I will be getting close to 9 litres of milk per day from the 4 litres per day I am getting now. This will increase my daily earnings from sale of milk by KES 150 per day.It will make me to be financially independent and I can comfortably provide for my family."

"I have been dreaming of adding another cow to enable me to earn more income through the sale of milk, with this money I will buy a cow at KES 50000. My wish has been also to add an extension of extra room to my house with no success since what I earn from farming is little. I will therefore use KES 30000 to do an extension of an extra room to my main house as it will help me when I have visitors they will have an extra room to sleep comfortably. The remaining KES 20000 I will use to buy a plastic water tank to enable me to harvest rainwater and avoid perennial water shortages which have been a big challenge we are experiencing."

"I foresee my garden vegetable project to prosper as soon as i receiving the transfers. I plan to purchase a water tank to harvest water during rain for irrigation. My wife has been struggling to fetch water far away because the nearby water channels dried up due to drought. She walks for a longer distance to get water for personal use and for the garden. The sales that we make from it serve us for a few days but presence of a water tank means huge produce and better income."
