"I currently have five goats and two chickens, which brings me joy. My plan is for them to multiply, and then exchange the chickens for more goats and eventually trade the goats for cows. This will allow me to sell the milk and generate income for my family. Additionally, I aim to add another room to our house to provide a better living space for my family."

"I currently have four goats, and I hope they multiply so that I can trade them for cows. I want specifically a dairy cow because they multiply easily and I can sell their milk. By December, my goal is to have saved $500 to open my own salon in the city. I studied hairdressing and have a passion for it, so I am excited to start my own business to make more profits and give my family a good life they deserve."

"My biggest goal is to invest more in chickens and goats. I plan to buy two of each every month, and currently, I already have twelve chickens and five goats. I believe that investing in goats and chickens is easy and manageable. As goats mature relatively quickly, I can exchange them for dairy cows, enabling me to sell milk easily. There are times when I may lack money, especially when working as a motorcycle driver. However, with the dairy cow, I am confident that I can sell milk without stress. This will create for me an opportunity to have different sources of income and I can easily better my family's living standards."

"My goal is to diligently work and clear my debt. I took a loan of $300 from my merry-go-round to purchase a cow, which has proven invaluable in preparing my land for farming. I promised to repay $30 each month so that I can easily settle the debt without any difficulties. To date, I have repaid $90, and within seven more months, I will fulfill my commitment in full settlement of my debt. I am also working hard by burning and selling charcoal and also by selling fish. The only thing I am really working hard for right now is to clear the debt and start saving with a clear mind."

"I am currently stressed because I cannot afford to pay fees for my 8 children in primary and secondary school. This is because I lost two and a half acres of tomatoes due to floods that hit us recently. The tomatoes were to be harvested on the following day but floods came the night before and swept away my entire farm. I have to look for other means such as selling sume of my livestock. I sold 15 goats and 2 cows so that I could pay fees for my children and also to replant tomatoes on the farm."

"Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy pesticides and fertilizer for my tomatoes. I intend on investing the amount on agriculture as it is the main source of income for my family. I am very happy as I will no longer have to sell my cows to feed my family as these transfers will guarantee a good harvest once I spray my tomatoes."

"My husband and I have had an improved experience sleeping since I got us a mattress last year. Ours was worn out and using the cash I was receiving I was able to ensure we got a new place to sleep. This year I have been contemplating making the same improvements for the children. Their mattress is old and worn out and cannot be used. My hope is ensure I save enough in savings group and have enough to buy a mattress for them which could go for $50. I also want a cow to cut down on the expense of buying milk and I hope to also do this from my savings."

"Animal farming is the investment most of us in this village have. Our animals however were lost mainly during the long drought. We are trying to rebuild those animal reserves we once had. I have now gotten to seven goats thanks to Givedirectly transfers and I would like to add more. I believe that animals have the ability to multiply as my goats become many I can sell them and buy cows which can earn a living buy hiring them out for tilling jobs or even dairy cattle for milk. This will allow me educate my 8 school going children and give them a chance at life."

"Early last year my wife gave birth to our fourth child, it was a joy to us as our family was growing. Our two eldest were already school going and my third child was already off the phase of constantly having milk. The arrival of the new born changed things as we now had to buy milk daily for the youngest. we spend $1 daily on milk which is away from our daily food budgets. My earnings vary since they fully depend on when I get construction work. At this point we were also starting to think about school fees for the older ones. We had been buying milk for the longest time but this was becoming an expensive affair. I decided in march to save my entire transfers until we could afford a nursing cow or a cow that was to soon calve to remove this budget, after saving for three months and selling some goats, I bought a cow in May at $160. This is a joy since we all now in the family, as well as the bay have access to milk. I also know once she gets off the milk we can sell it and make some cash."

"In the coming year and beyond, I want to venture into a goat rearing project. This is because I have a passion for livestock keeping, and additionally, goats are easy to maintain. In my area, the climate favors them, and I see most people who have ventured into this are doing well. Prices of goats are rising, hence this is an advantage to goat keepers. To achieve this goal, I will use part of my monthly transfer to buy a goat every month. Eventually, once I have a good number, I will sell some and eventually buy a cow. The reason why I need this cow is because they provide many benefits ranging from milk to fertilizer to siblings, etc. And this will be good financial security, hence I will not live a life of worries. Since I know once I have a financial problem, I can sell and get money to sort out my issues without begging from neighbors and friends."
