"I spent my transfer on paying college fees for my two children who were taking artisan courses on dress making and welding but had dropped out of their various learning institutions due to fee arrears. I am glad I cleared the outstanding fee and now will at least have something to rely on in future once they finish their training. I also bought a dairy cow which I believe in the near future will be giving us milk and as a result we wont be taking black tea anymore. The remaining part of my transfer was spent on buying school uniforms for my children in primary school because the ones they had were already worn out."

"I spent part of my first transfer to buy iron sheets and other building materials to construct a new house since the old one I used to live had collapsed one night because it was not stable enough to withstand heavy rains. It nearly fell on us that night and from that time then, it posed great danger for anyone to live in it. So from that time, my family has been seeking shelter from neighbours who were willing to accommodate us. However, since GiveDirectly came to our village and offered us the transfers, building a home was the first decision I made and right now, I am in my own house with my family. The transfer has changed my life which I never hoped such a thing to happen. I also spent part of the remaining amount to buy food for my family because sometimes we would skip a meal since I did not have enough money to provide for my family adequately. I am planning to spend the remaining amount to buy a cow to keep in my compound which will later reproduce and retain as an asset to me."

"I spent my second transfer to buy three cows and three goats and remaining amount I used to pay college fees for the daughter of my late brother . I have children who still need nutrition support and I believe that we shall have milk from my cows for the family and the surplus for sell. Education is the only inheritance that a parent can give to his children, for futures economic stability and global job market, I decided to invest in it by paying fees to my late brother's daughter."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in virtually, everything because it offers their financial support in an extremely fair way. Everyone in the society has benefited significantly from the transfers; many youths who had dropped out of school due to huge fee arrears have managed to resume their studies because parents have afforded to clear the fees; many villagers have built better houses, while others who had no cows have bought some. Hence, I find nothing that GD does not do well."

"Since I received money from GD my life has changed because I can manage to get all my meals daily which in the past was unheard of. I also have a big house which is comfortable as compared to the one I was formerly living in. I also have a dairy cow which provides me with milk for consumption and for sale."

"I used the second transfer to buy dairy cows and bulls to add to what I had bought during the first transfers, hoping this livestock rearing project will expand and be more productive in the future thus giving me sustainable income to provide the best education for my children as I will use to pay their school fee. I used the rest of the transfers to buy a sack of maize and clothes for my family."

"The biggest difference my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is the savings I am making monthly through merry go round I joined. It has always been my big dream to own a cow but it has not been possible for me since I am a casual laborer and the daily earnings I get I spend on my household daily expenditure. I currently spend a lot on buying milk for my family consumption and this so stressing. I have had a dream of buying a cow to assist me in milk production for both consumption and sale. Even though I haven't seen my dream come true, I have hopes that the merry go round group I joined will soon enable me be buy one when my turn come. I have a plan of buying one with the lump sum amount I will get from the merry go round. I am so happy to have joined it."

"My life has been good since I received the transfers from Give Directly. I am happy because I have been able to buy two bulls for ploughing. This will help me to save time as well as reduce farming expenses and increase my farm yield. I used to hire cows for ploughing my farm, which was expensive. I prepared my farm late because I had to wait for others to till their land. I also build a pit latrine in my homestead and I therefore, no longer releave my self in the bush while responding to the call of nature."
