How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Over the years , I do vegetable farming as a source of income unfortunately with limited resources . I have been practicing it in a small acreage of land which I can only sell in my village and a few other , meaning my profits have always been little . I have always desire to plant sugarcane to serve as my other source of income . This has not been possible because I lacked a start up capital . I used entirely most of my transfers to plant sugarcane which in a few months I will be blessed to harvest it . From the sales of the sugarcane I intend to pay school fees for my daughter who is yet to enroll in secondary school . Therefore , my life is different since I am hopeful that at long last my daughter is guaranteed of quality education.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly did well through being keen at enrollment since GiveDirectly's staffs did household numbering on every household they visited in my village which ensured inclusion of households that were interested in the project . There staffs were proactively candid to offer solution to the beneficiaries who made follow up call using the toll free hotline phone number that was issued at enrollment stage .
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of my second transfer on sugarcane farming by planting two hectares of land . This project is more profitable and I am sure in the next few months I shall harvest pretty much and sell in the nearby factory . I bought decent seats . The remaining amount I bought food stuffs for my consumption.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference for me is the piece of land which is one acre that is now under my name. I currently live in a small place that is so squeezed which forces me to squeeze with my family in such a small place.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy because I never knew I could get such an amount of money that can help change my life. I just knelt down and thanked God because I knew the opportunity to change our lives had finally come to pass.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the money to buy a new piece of land which is half an acre. I intend to use this land to build a new house because where I live currently is too small and squeezed for my family, which I think is a big achievement for me.
