What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on paying school fees for my child to joined the university and paid school for the other one in high school who was already sent away because of the arrears, actually he had spent two days out of school due to lack of fees but sent her back immediatey after receiving the money. I used the remaining amount on building a larger decent house since the previous one was grass thatched and very small . I am glad that their is privacy in the house new house .
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GiveDirectly did well is by giving us the freedom of using the money the way we want because we have different needs.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been in that, I stay in a decent spacious house and my child has joined the university which is a big step, I don't know how I could have managed this .

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on paying 10,000 KES school fee for my child in high school, topped up 7,000 KES for my son to buy a laptop, bought building materials at 22,000 KES which I'll use to build a better house, bought a bag of maize at 3,600 KES then used the rest of the cash on food and clothing for the family. I feel very relieved now that I've paid the whole year's fee for my high school child.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy that I almost fell down when I received the money because my plans would now come to reality. Thanks to GiveDirectly.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life is paying school fees for my children. I have a son who is supposed to join the University but I am not able to raise the fee alone. There are others in high school too.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is usually during the the morning hours when I'm at work. I teach kindergarten school children and it's always fun being with them.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that my children will go to school and I will build a better house.
