What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means good education for me. I am in my final year in high school with the hope of joining University next year. Having struggled all through my high school life in terms of fee payment, I would want to invest in something that will guarantee a continuous income to sustain my higher learning. My parents who are responsible to pay my school fees have late been struggling. They cannot raise the required amount because they earn very little. Charcoal burning approximately earns them 4,000 KES per month. With other needs such as food and health care to be sorted, they only clear a tiny percentage, leaving the tuition fees to continue pilling. Currently, 15,000 KES needs to be cleared. I intend to use the transfers of the first four months to settle the arrears. Thereafter, I will purchase 10 goats at a total cost of 20,000 KES. By the time I will be ready to join University, the livestock will have multiplied and I will smoothly raise the admission fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Joining the final class of high school in January this year was my happiest moment. I am really delighted because my dream of becoming a nurse is drawing closer.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of school fees is the current challenge I am facing. I currently have fee arrears totaling 15,000 KES. My parents have failed to clear the balance because the money they make from charcoal burning is not sufficient. The 4,000 KES they get in a month mainly sorts food and health requirements.
