Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I did not know that money was in my phone until the day GiveDirectly workers came to my house to interview me. Infact I had gone to the next town to sell bread when they went to my house to ask for me. I was really happy when I heard that my transfer has been sent. I have eagerly waited to receive this money because when the others from the nearby town are passing with their zinc, cement bags, mattresses that they bought with the money GiveDirectly gave them I felt left out, but thank God today I am told that my payment has come.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Although I have not cashed out the money yet but the biggest difference that this payment from GiveDirectly will have in my daily life is that I am now going have a new house with zinc roof instead of thatch roof. I going to expand on my business. I am not going to now sell bread alone. I will have other food stuffs as well that I will be selling. In this way I can earn more money to sustain my family. Moreover, my children school fees are now getting to be paid in full. I am so grateful and happy for this opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
As seeing my house is no longer guarantee to live in it. With the money now available, I am going to buy zinc and rice with this first transfer. I usually depend on the sale of bread as a source of livelihood. Often times customers are not available to buy all the bread I usually carry to sell so the little that is been bought I used the money to buy food my children and I for that day.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I want to build a zine house because my thatched roof house is leaking and old.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have been through so much hardship and this has made me unhappy but today, I am very grateful because we have been praying and wishing for Givedirectly to come to our town. Now that Givedirectly has come, I thank God because I know my condition will change for good.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My husband and I don't have money to support and send our children to school. My farm didn't produce well this year due to the animals eating my crops.
