How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different because we got a financial boost from GiveDirectly. I have some cash that I can even spend funds comfortably on food and my farming activities. I do not struggle any more, I sense some financial stability, if I can say so.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to invest in dairy farming and put up a shop because I live near the road and two schools are nearby. The shop will therefore be strategically located. Because GiveDirectly transfers saved me from selling the trees for renovation purpose, I will use the revenue from sale to start the dairy business. There is a ready market in our area due to high demand of milk and minimal supply. So I am assured the business will do well.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the ease from financial burdens that I had. The need to renovate our house had weighed me but now I feel lighter having received the cash from GiveDirectly and used it for this cause.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have a beautiful house in the next six months. With GD transfers, I did the plastering and cementing - I demolished the earthen walls. I plan to do all finishing in the next few months : painting, tiling the floor and finally have a beautiful house.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is lack of funds for finishing my house. The incomplete house presents a bad picture and remains cold because olit has many openings. Hence, my family has suffered for some years.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when sharing breakfast with my healthy family. This means that a new day with new blessings has come.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on improving my house
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
I have planted over 1000 trees over the last 12 years. I harvested matured trees and sold them to earn some money that I used in building my house. Moreover, the trees are a source of firewood for the family use. Still, I have attained a nice micro-environment due to the cooling and aesthetic effects of the trees. Hence, I find that as the greatest achievemnt I have achieved.
