Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have no additional goals from the previously set ones I had set of paying school fees for my grandchildren and taking care of my health problems by seeking proper medical attention.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My grandchildren were almost dropping out of school due to lack of school fees which their parents could not afford. I used the second transfer I received to help clear their fees and they managed to get back to school. It used to break my heart seeing my grandchildren in and out of school due to their parent's inability to pay their school fees as they do not have stable sources of income. During such occasions I would feel really guilty for not educating my children which might have enabled them to get better jobs other than the casual jobs that they currently depend on. Maybe that could have have made it easier for them to provide better for their own children. Paying the school fees took away some of the guilt I felt and made me feel proud each day, especially when one of them cleared his highschool without any balances. With part of my first transfer, I managed to buy a cow which came at a good time after two of my cows had died from drought. I was very sad as the cows were my only valuable assets which I would even sell in times of financial crisis. Buying the cow brought back my lost hope of ever owning a cow or any other livestock.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to be in a better health condition after using the money to treat myself.I have had a medical condition for sometime now but could not manage to get proper medication or check up due to lack of money . With the help of these transfers,I was finally able to get proper treatment and have hopes of being better soon. Having a better health will allow me to get on with my duties and tend to my farms without having to depend on anyone or hire anyone as I currently do.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I haven't thought of a new goal so far because my plan had been interrupted by my grandchild joining college.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I was able to weed my farm in time, I am very happy to help my grandchild join college in time and I was able to buy food that will sustain me and my family through this planting season before harvest.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I would still want to support my grandchild in school by paying school fees and also to buy a goat which I will use as a remembrance of Give Directly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My grandchild did not miss the chance to join college because of this transfer. The transfer came in at the right time because the parents did not have enough money to take him to school. Thanks to Give Directly, he is in school studying.

The biggest hardship I have ever faced in life is being homeless while married. I spent so many years sleeping in a neighbours house.

My happiest part of the day is in the evening when am having mean with my family. I feel happy when we share a meal.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I have a grandchild who is an orphan and I have been staying with him since childhood. When I get the transfers I want to build him a house and buy him some household items like furniture. I also want to use part of the money to buy 1sack of maize.

My proudest achievement is being able to build a house of my own. When I got married we stayed for so many years without a house but now am proud I own one.
