Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that the cash transfer has empowered me to the extent that I will be able to complete mt house. More so, I am the happiest person because I can take good care of my family needs such as food, medical care without begging the neighbours. Previously, I was a laughing stock in the community and it made me depressed.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I heard the phone buzzing at night then I called out my spouse to read it for me. I was very happy at that moment because I was hard up.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I purchased iron sheets worth UGX 675000 and a wheel barrow worth UGX 110000 and sand worth UGX 70000 and bricks worth UGX 250000. I bought utensils worth UGX 240000. Part of the cash transfer was spent on buying cassava worth UGX 50000 and UGX 50000 was spent on clothes. I spent UGX 80000 on medical bills and the balance was spent on buying food on a daily basis.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete the construction of my house.
I started building a house seven years back but never completed it because I lacked money to finish up the work.
The house that I currently sleep in is grass thatched and it leaks.
I am hopping that if all go well, finishing the construction work will be priority so that I can shift to it.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am seated with my children.
They are an encouragement to me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is taking care of my children's education needs.
Being a widow, I have to try as much as I can to play the role of both the father and mother to see to it that the affairs of the family are run smoothly.
Children have to go to school but providing for them is such a big charllage.
I don't have any income generating activity from which to raise money.
Some times I do casual labour together with them atleast to be sure that they are in school.
