What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to settle my debts,I built a house and I also bought household items like sourcepans,plates and beddings.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done well in that it has eradicated poverty from most families in my village,and it has also improved the quality of living,I sleep on a bed and mattress in an iron roofed house.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because I am now a debt free man because I was able to pay all the debts that I had, before I received my transfer I had a lot of debts that I could not settle. I was also able to build an iron roofed house after getting my transfer,this was not going to be possible without getting the transfer.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying bricks at 600,000ugx, contraction stones at 100,000ugx, mattress at 95,000ugx, paid builders 50,000ugx out of 150,000, kitchen utensils at 20,000ugx, clearing a debt of 400,000ugx and I have saved 300,000ugx for building.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved my first transfer I was very happy, knowing that my debt was going to be cleared.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that am now free from the debt burden of 400,000 that I had.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is lack of money to develop my plot of land.I have been planning to establish more rooms for rent but this has not been achieved since I do not have money to implement my decision.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Morning time is my happiest part of the day.It is the time my children usually organize themselves to go and do garden work. Seeing them happy and healthy, ready to go and do garden work makes me happy since farming is my family's key source of livelihood
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means developing my plot of land by building a commercial house. This commercial house will be an additional source of income to my family since I will be renting it out.
