How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I plan to use the funds to purchase a refrigerator. Having a fridge will allow me to store my milk and consume more of it, which I was unable to do before due to lack of refrigeration. This would greatly benefit me, and the aid money from givedirectly will help me achieve this goal. I am grateful for the support."
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The support of GiveDirectly has been a significant help to me, as it has transformed my life by enabling me to provide food for my family and reducing our overall stress levels. I am truly grateful for this positive change in my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving the second transfer of funds from GiveDirectly, I felt a great sense of happiness because it allowed me to achieve my goal of purchasing a refrigerator. This cost me $500, and I was pleased to be able to make progress towards my goal. Additionally, I used the remaining funds to purchase clothing and food items. I am looking forward to making more progress towards my goals with the support of GiveDirectly.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The transfers that I will get will be of great help to me. I currently have a fresh milk-selling business that I operate. I buy the milk from the suppliers at a lower price and sell it at a retail price. The little income I earn from the business had been of help in terms of feeding my children and getting them some of the necessities, but getting a separate place to operate my business had not been easy because currently, I use my house both for business and as my house where I stay with my two children. I plan to spend most of the transfers on boosting my business; I want to get a separate place for my business and also purchase a refrigerator because the one that I currently have, belongs to a friend. My eldest son who is currently in class seven had also been complaining of having eye problems, so I believe the transfers will also be of help also in terms of settling his medical expenses.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6 months, my happiness had been brought about by my children. Each day as I see my children wake up every morning in good health, go to school and also perform great at their levels despite the challenges that I undergo as a single parent, I feel overjoyed and more hopeful in life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am faced currently faced with so many challenges, but the major one is the fact those who come from my community always look down upon me due to the fact that I am a single mother and owing to the fact that my husband and I separated. I therefore always feel stressed knowing that I am in a foreign country and my community members whom I thought we could be in unison are now turning against me.
